Cana Harris
(Parabuteo unicinctus) is a medium large raptor in the family jestřábovitých, occurring within the southwestern United States south to Chile and central Argentina. Its presence is sometimes reported in Western Europe, mostly in Great Britain. Harris's Buzzard sokolnickým favorite kind, so it is likely that its presence in Europe, originated in individuals who had escaped from captivity.
Buzzard is the sole representative of the Harris family Parabuteo. Latin name is derived from the Greek para, meaning like or similar, and the Latin buteo, indicating Buzzard, uni means one and cinctus means surrounded by or bordered, pointing to the white strip at the base and tip of tail. The English name of the bird came from John James Audubon, who named it in honor of his ornithological companion, financial sponsor and friend Edward Harris. Buzzard Harris is known for its outstanding behavior - they hunt in a group that consists of members of one family (most predators hunt alone).
