Bubo bubo
(Bubo bubo) is a large nocturnal bird of the family puštíkovití. The largest living owl. He often dubbed the king of the night. Owl is widespread across most of Europe (with the exception of the British Isles north of France and northern Scandinavia), in North Africa (Mediterranean region, Algeria and Morocco) and in much of Asia (excluding the northern and southern areas).
Owl is a large bird, bigger than a buzzard, but on the other hand, considerably smaller than for example the golden eagle. Females are heavier than males and have a greater wingspan. Body length of adults is generally ranges between 60-70 cm wingspan of adults is about 170 cm. Weight usually ranges between 1800-3000 grams, especially large individuals, however, to reach a weight of over 4 kg.
